What "Unlimited" Means
Every Crabby Editor plan includes unlimited editorial queries and feedback. There are no per-word fees, no usage meters, and no surprise invoices. You pay a flat price and get feedback on your manuscript as much as you need.
To keep this sustainable, Crabby applies a lightweight fair use system. It exists to prevent the kind of abuse that would degrade performance for everyone (bot networks, mass scraping, denial-of-service activity), not to throttle legitimate heavy use. Writing a novel? Talking to Crabby for hours about your characters? That's exactly what the service is for.
Per-User Licensing
Each Crabby Editor subscription covers one writer. Your account is yours alone — it tracks your manuscripts, your history, your conversations with the editors, and your writing streaks. Sharing a single account across multiple writers undermines the personalized relationship that makes Crabby work.

Who These Plans Are For
Crabby Editor is designed for individual writers working on their craft — novelists, memoirists, short story writers, and anyone with a manuscript that needs honest, in-depth feedback.
You retain full ownership of your work. You can use the feedback you receive for any purpose: your book, your publishing journey, your career. However, you cannot use Crabby Editor as backend infrastructure for a commercial editing service, resell access to the platform, or proxy our editorial feedback as your own service for third parties. If your use case involves serving external clients, please contact us about an enterprise arrangement.
Plan Tiers
Every plan gets unlimited queries. The difference between tiers is scope and commitment:
- For Writers ($13.99/month): Max book size 800 pages, unlimited queries and chat, 5 editorial personas, listen-to-your-book audio feedback. Month-to-month, cancel anytime.
- Finish the Book ($24.99/3 months): All Writers features, with a 3-month deadline to finish your manuscript. A one-time payment — renew manually if you need more time.
Fair Resource Sharing
Crabby Editor runs on shared AI infrastructure. During periods of unusually high demand, responses may take slightly longer. This is not throttling — it's the reality of shared infrastructure. Heavy legitimate use is fully supported on every tier; you won't be cut off for working hard on your manuscript.
Fair use enforcement only activates against actual abuse: the kind of automated activity that would noticeably impact other writers.
What's Not Allowed
The following activities are prohibited on all plans:
- Sharing your account credentials across multiple writers
- Reselling Crabby Editor access or proxying our feedback as your own service
- Using automated scripts or bots to send large volumes of queries
- Large-scale scraping or data harvesting of the platform
- Attempting to reverse-engineer the underlying AI models or infrastructure
- Launching or coordinating denial-of-service attacks
- Uploading or generating illegal content including fraud, harassment, or CSAM
Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Data Usage and Privacy
Your manuscripts are your intellectual property. Crabby Editor does not train AI models on your work. Your text is processed solely for the purpose of generating editorial feedback for you. We configure our AI providers to not retain or train on your submitted data where possible. If you cancel your account, your data is deleted.

Policy Updates
This policy may evolve as the platform grows. Changes will be communicated to customers at least 7 days before taking effect.
